A bit about Michael Jon Ward

You could say I was lucky not being brought up with a silver spoon, I worked very hard from an early age, sweeping a car park at 5:30am 6 days a week before school!

One job became two, I remember doing dishes at a local hotel over Christmas… The truth is I have always had a job, even whilst studying full time at the University of Portsmouth, over this three year period I worked in a Mushroom Factory, loading Navy Ships at silly o’clock in the morning, a call centre, hotel cleaner and more to cover bills, rent, beer etc.

Michael Jon WardBack in 2002 I started to a BA Hon's Communication Design degree at the University of Portsmouth, graduating in 2005. Communication designer’s work across print and screen-based media in order to solve visual problems, for example, a new corporate identity now has to work not only in print – say on a letterhead, poster or van – but also on a website. This is my true passion, to design and create unique brand identities and businesses from nothing!

Ok, I personally did not find my time studying a BA Hon's Communication Design degree a great success! However the University experience itself (and moving down to Portsmouth) was awesome, I made new friends, met my amazing wife, set up my first business and more!

Both a need to work, and a love for creative stuff has helped me adapt to the dynamic and constantly evolving world of business, media, marketing and design. I am lucky to have the ability to think creatively, a willingness to learn, experiment, take calculated risks and express ideas in a variety of media.

Although I am relatively new to the world of business, over the next few years I aim to expand and develop lots of new ideas, my finish line to create a solid foundation and network of quality brands that help promote each other.

Being in business is one exciting adventure, I enjoy the challenge and hope me sharing my own thoughts / experiences on my blog will help others follow there dreams… Good luck and enjoy!
