Investment, commodities, funds and more

Successful investing is all about the diversification and management of the risks you take. (In layman's terms this means not having all your eggs in one basket.) We know by looking at history that markets can crash, and if you are not diversified your entire nest egg can be wiped out over night!

A healthy investment portfolio includes a wide range of assets including a variety of equities with exposures to different market sectors. Investing in other countries, the stock market , bonds, a property portfolio, gold and fuel related investments.

The key for above is to determine what amount of each asset class to have. What can you afford, in a global economy, a portfolio should be compiled based upon current global macroeconomic fundamentals. From what I have researched some exposure to gold should be included in all diversified portfolios. A rule that has been preached by different investors is a minimum allocation of around 10% to gold and related gold-investments!

Investing in Assets

Investing in Assets, Investing for tomorrow...Many accountants remain sceptical of the whole concept of intangible assets, such as customer relationships, or business networks. Nevertheless they have generally accepted that certain assets such as patents and perhaps application software, i.e. 'intellectual property', are very valuable in their own right! A set of assets less easily recognised are know as intangibles.

The reality is that when valuing intangible assets, people will often find there is a difference between the accounting valuations and their value to a business or person. So in a nut shell an asset is something of monetary value that is owned by a business, investor or individual. Assets are listed on a firm's balance sheet and include tangible items such as inventories, business equipment, and real estate (Properties) as well as intangible items such as property rights!

Paying pennies for your assets

Make Money by Investing in Assets. Investment Ideas and IntangiblesIf you enjoy writing then why not write a book, getting a book published is an asset that could earn you royalties each year! Most writers are generally paid a royalty based on their book sales so make sure it is a great book! As far as I know the way it works is fairly complicated, so if you have an agent or trusted friend to represent you, you should have a chat and get the wheels in motion! (Make sure you check over any contracts, and work with someone who is business minded not your best friend!)

The stock market is a great place to invest at the moment if you like to gamble! I am not saying sell your house and put everything on black! You can invest in penny shares and not only make money but also learn lots about the stock market! A penny share is a term used to describe shares which have a speculative appeal because of their low value. With no official rule to define when a stock becomes a penny share, different investors in the stock market may use different criteria. The essence of these penny share companies is that they will have a shorter business operating history! With larger companies most will have the stability of large amounts of assets and a long company trading history to fall back on. Although shares in larger companies may seem a safer bet you will see that this is reflected in the share value, making penny shares offers exciting prospects for investors.

Investing in commodities

A commodity is anything for which there is demand, but which is supplied without qualitative differentiation across a given market. Bulk products, such as metals, grains, and foods, that are traded on a commodities exchange. These markets cover the price for Coffee, Beef, Gold, Oil, Copper and Wheat to mention just a few. They form the first raw inputs into the business production process. These prices as business inputs have a major influence on inflation in the economy and thereby Government policy. ...

Funds allow you to spread risk across a range of companies and markets

Funding or financing is to provide capital (funds), which means money for a project, a person, a business or any other private or public institutions. Those funds can be allocated for either short term or long term investment purposes.
